What Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?
Art is my passion. It is who I am and my soul longs to create from the time I open my eyes until I fall asleep at night. The should art journey just seemed the natural thing to do
How would you describe your creative process?
To be honest I had hardly any time to plan…no time in fact. I sat down after 10.30pm and just let my creative spirit flow. I had no idea what I was going to create until I sat down with paper and paints. I have never done this before and it was wonderful.
What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?
First I saw a heart….to me the heart and the soul are intertwined. I already had a piece of brownish card so I glued a piece of handmade white paper to the card. This symbolises the purity of the soul. When one is in the midst of creating this purity shines through. I then dabbed on red acrylic paint as the traditional colour of the heart is red. The red for me symbolises the creative blood running through my veins. I felt the need to add purple as it is one of the highest spiritual colours. I feel that creating is a spiritual process, an awakening of ones spirit and soul. I added white crepe paper to each side of the heart. To me these are angel wings as I feel that there are angels watching over me and guiding me along my path. Lastly I added random, untidy, natural strands of different lengths. These are all the creative ideas flowing, often jumbled, sometimes intertwined but part of the creative process. As one puts paint to paper so these ideas take form.
What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?
My ideas and feelings regarding this piece just flowed. I normally plan everything so meticulously with such detail. This was unplanned, totally spontaneous. Even the thoughts surrounding the piece just came to me. I was a truly spiritual creative process. I feel wonderful.
