What Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?
I was inspired to do a Soul Art journey because I felt called to participate in Soul Art Day.
Plus, I really appreciate the process of body mapping as an entry point to open up to your creativity.
How would you describe your creative process?
I would describe my creative process as being experimental. I had an idea to make a type of
glove and decorate it, a kind of body mapping on the body itself. It really unfolded from there.
Soon I found myself wanting to decorate it with real flowers. Then it turned into an interaction
with the flowers themselves.
What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?
One of the insights I received was when we allow ourselves to be present to the creative process
we can be led and the project will unfold in ways that are better than we could have imagined.
What turned out interesting about the project was the blend of the painted items like the
glove interacting with the natural items like the flowers. The created turning back to the natural world.
What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?
This may sound simple but the most important thing I would like to share about my
Soul Art experience is that I participated. In the past I’ve experienced blocks to my creativity
and I feel that this process really can help. Plus, my experience in visual arts is mainly
in collage and photography. So I worked with the somewhat limited techniques that I had
and I learned something very valuable in the process.
