What Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?
I’m always excited to participate in Soul Art Day. This must be my consecutive fourth or fifth time. I’m joyful to know that it’s an international event and it’s a day to focus especially on what we love, creating art.
How would you describe your creative process?
Start out with a tarot or oracle reading, a clean and organized art space, light a candle, music on or off depending on my mood, use a lot of positive affirmations (especially when I’m feeling challenged), and take breaks as I need them. In general I have to get very left-brained before I get very right-brained. I love to read novels and peruse through picture books, listen to music (indie, jazz, alternative, electronica), or visit a museum or the NYBG for inspiration.
What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?
I really need to be much more patient with myself and that taking breaks can be a very good thing. I had a lot of fun painting “Enchanted Life.” It holds very deep meanings for me. I went into the process with very little planning and it resulted in so much more- way beyond what I imagined.
What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?
Let go of expectations and pressure the best you can (if you’re feeling challenged, know that it happens to everyone from time to time), just have fun, and try to create every day.
