How would you describe your creative process?
It looked like a struggle in the beginning, but the process brings layers in my work that are necessary to build on..
What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?
It was truly a journey making this!
It literally and figuratively made me move through all kinds of layers. Layers that may no longer be visible, but are firmly anchored in all layers of paint.
That’s why I call her ‘The journey upward’.
And that’s how it goes in life.
Sometimes you step forward beaming after you have gone through all kinds of processes, and no one sees what preceded this.
But what an extra value the gold gets when you know what’s underneath!
And also, keep in mind that if it’s tough for a while, it can get better. That sometimes it is necessary to move through. You will come out of this stronger!
What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?
It started with earth tones, primal mothers, a DNA strand, fire and deep roots in the earth.
It continued to a volcanic eruption from which an angel rose.
The angel took up more and more space and spread her light in places where it was still dark, without forgetting the existence of her deep underlying layers.
I think the symbolism is so beautiful..
Beneath all that apparent light and gold and colors there is a deeper layer, one that requires a lot of work. Make no mistake, when you look at someone who you think has it together; There can be a lot ‘underneath’ there. You don’t become an ‘angel’ from one day to the next. In-depth processes, hard work and everything that comes with it have been worked through.
