A Certified Soul Art® Guide to inspire your journey
evelyne’s Soul Art Day Interview
When did you know you were an artist?
It wasn’t an immediate realization. Initially, I simply felt a deep sense of feeling good & pleasure when creating. Painting was an immersive experience, disconnected from any notion of being an “artist” or pursuing an artistic career. I identified as creative and creative entrepreneur, not necessarily as an artist.
The possibility began to dawn when I launched my creative business in 2015, guiding women to birth the artist within themselves. Inspired by this new momentum, I desired to bring my creativity to new possibilities by exhibiting my art for the first time. That first exhibition was a pivotal moment, a clear and undeniable claiming : I am an artist, and I desire to dedicate my life to creation.
How do you get into the creative zone?
For me, entering the creative zone isn’t about flipping a switch; it’s about intentional preparation. Before diving into any creative process, I need to connect deeply with my deep “why”, my true desire who i want to become through the process. I take the time required to clarify my intention and align my energy, ensuring it resonates within me with each cells of my body. If I don’t feel a full YES, I dedicate more time to this inner exploration. This is a long process to bring into unity all parts of who i am in direction to what i desire to create.
The true entry point comes when articulating this intention sparks something profound within me – perhaps tears of the soul, overwhelming joy, a sense of energy that open my heart like an heartgasm or palpable excitement. It’s when I fall in love with this new possibility available for me that i can enter into the creative process.
From there, I engage in a personal ritual to anchor my creative presence in the here and now. This involves meditation, allowing myself to be present, to connect with my body, do breath work to release old energy. I also sound with my voice expressing through the power of sound, soul songs, and light language to go deeper within and in my inner worlds.
This preliminary process is essential; it allows me to fully surrender to the creative flow without questioning the rightness of each gesture, color choice, pause, or insight that may arise. It’s like creative foreplay, preparing me to receive the creative process in its fullest expression and allowing myself to be completely traversed by it from the highest frequences of who i am.
What do you love about your art?
Initially, what drew me to my art was the profound experience of the creative process itself. I loved the pleasure i felt during the creative process. My exploration wasn’t driven by aesthetics or a desire to create something conventionally “beautiful.” Instead, I cherished the freedom to express what felt raw, wild, and true for me in that very moment, without any pursuit of external beauty. It was just pure expression of my orgasmic energy.
Over the years, my appreciation has expanded. I’ve come to love the final artwork as well, and the feelings it evokes within me. There’s a simple joy in just “being” with a piece. Contemplating it. Feeling its presence. It’s like a meditative silence, allowing me to receive whatever I need in that instant.
Depending on my state of being, I love to stand before a piece and simply let the energy of life flow. Sometimes, it’s like receiving an “energy shot” that realigns me and opens my heart. It provides that essential something to return to my center, the zero point of creation and settle into higher vibrational energies, emotions, and thoughts.
My art has become a vital part of my daily life. When triggered by external events and needing to regulate my nervous system naturally, I turn to my creations. The artwork supports me from the inside out, helping me shift my state of being and grow from the experience.
