What Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?
I needed something to push me back into my studio which I have been avoiding recently. Having a timed event seemed to excite me and get me there and watching the process and work of other the artists participating was inspiring.
How would you describe your creative process?
I generally start with colors that feel good to me at that moment and then see what images come up. I sometimes have a theme or focus in mind and that dictates the color and vibe. If I am doing an illustration, I sit with the story for a while and then start looking for images online or in books for inspiration and reference.
What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?
I didn’t have a plan which can sometimes paralyze me but, by simply starting with the trace of my hand, it created lines that I could work from that evolved into something that I’m really excited about.
What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?
Walking into the room with a blank canvas can be intimidating and the fear of messing up and failing has stopped me from starting at all. Not having expectations and just letting the work evolve through me made the process fun and energetic. It felt more like play and experimentation. I just let go and went with it. Very intuitive and powerful.
