Lisa Baechtle's Soul Art

What Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?

I’ve been doing “soul” art for over 30 years. I started an intuitive conjuring practice for healing after remembering trauma. I’ve also taught the practice to many people, both artists and non-artists.

How would you describe your creative process?

There are a multitude of influences to keep my creative journey moving. i start my mornings with stillness and gratitude practice, reading, divination, journal writing and sketching. in the studio and in my teaching, i practice a non-verbal, color-only conjuring with watercolor to develop trust and connection with instinctual and intuitive visioning. I spend time everyday walking among trees where there are limited human generated sounds. connecting with the natural world directly and in meditation is the strongest inspiration for my creative practice.

What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?

as i nurture and reconnect to my wild soul/spirit, i am slowly and steadily growing like trees, rooted and strong. my roots connect to the collective rootedness. i am guided by mystery and magic to reclaim a wild life.

What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?

the fact that there were so many participants throughout the world creating at the same time, fills me to overflowing with awe. i felt as i was painting my image, it was also being contributed to by other creative beings and energies.
