Lynda J. Smith's Soul Art

What Inspired you to do a Soul Art journey?

All the beautiful and unique Art that Laura and her team and the other artists created really inspired me. Seeing how committed Laura is to her soul artwork and how she honours the art process for herself and other artists.

How would you describe your creative process?

I intuitively and empathically sense emotions and energy. I put all of that into my Art with line drawings, watercolour paintings, pastel and mixed media. I usually have a dream and wake up some mornings with wanting to draw/paint all the energy I absorbed/integrated. To dive deeper, I also do Art Therapy processes within a series of 8 to 10 pieces of drawings, paintings, or mixed media. I also combine three of these techniques into one series. I talk with my intuition for each step in the process.

What insight did you receive from your Soul Art?

The insight I received was that I must honour and accept my emotions reminding me to use them as energy or fuel for my Art and to honour my own process. Also thatI am strong enough to my own emotions through the actual doing of the Art and Art process. Engaging with the masculine side of my being to help with the feminine side of my creativity.

What is the most important thing you would like to share about your Soul Art experience?

I have been feeling a lot of resistance to doing my Art recently but having a Laura’s guidance and te energetic container of the group really helped push me through that stuck feeling. My Soul Art experience helped me realize that I haven’t lost my creativity or the way I create my Art for which I am very grateful.
